Apple Releases Beta 1 Of visionOS 1.2, macOS 14.5, tvOS 17.5, And watchOS 10.5

Apple today released the first iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 software updates to developers for testing, but they weren’t the only ones. Apple has now also released the first beta of visionOS 1.2, macOS 14.5, tvOS 17.5, and watchOS 10.5 as well.

The new updates are all now available for download by developers ahead of what is likely to be a weeks-long beta before they are released to the public.

watchOS 10.5

Apple’s watchOS 10.5 update is now available to developers and the update can be installed via the Watch app on the iPhone. It comes a month after the release of watchOS 10.4 but we aren’t yet aware of any big new features this time out.

tvOS 17.5

Apple’s tvOS 17.5 update isn’t expected to bring any new features but it can now be downloaded via the Settings app on Apple TV devices. The update is likely to feature bug and performance improvements, but Apple rarely shares detailed information about tvOS betas of this ilk.

macOS Sonoma 14.5

Mac users who are signed into a developer account can now download the macOS Sonoma 14.5 update but they shouldn’t expect any big changes. New features haven’t been confirmed as yet, but it’s possible some smaller ones are lurking under the hood.

visionOS 1.2

The visionOS 1.2 beta is now available for Apple Vision Pro owners who also happen to have a developer account. Details are slim at the moment, but it’s likely that further improvements to the Personas feature have been added while bug fixes are also very likely at this point.
