Apple Could Launch The iPhone Ultra In The US Only At First

Apple’s first foldable phone, expected to be called iPhone Ultra, may have a staggered launch and only be available in the United States initially.

That’s according to a report by ChannelNews in Australia, which cites local carriers and a large retailer when claiming that the iPhone Ultra will not launch in the country alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. All three phones are expected to be unveiled in September.

The report says that Apple will launch the iPhone Ultra in the United States initially, with other countries receiving the phone within the next few months.

It’s thought the staggered launch could be due to supply issues as well as the “pricing problems” that all technology companies are having to deal with right now. Apple is reportedly also “having testing issues with production models that have already been built.”

There have been conflicting reports of the expected iPhone Ultra release window in recent months, including some that suggested it could be announced in September but not go on sale until around November. Other reports had claimed that a September release was still likely.

It’s possible that the confused reporting is due to the fact that both are actually true, though. Those in the United States may still get an iPhone Ultra in September, while the rest of the world has to wait until that rumored November timeframe.
