Apple Car Keys Support Is Coming To Some Toyota Vehicles

Apple’s Car Key functionality is coming to Toyota vehicles, according to a new report. The feature allows car owners to use their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock and start their vehicles.

MacRumors reports that it has uncovered evidence that Toyota is readying the new Apple Car Key support.

The company already offers its own Digital Key feature as part of the Remote Connect package for some vehicles. Now, the report suggests that Apple Car Keys support could be added to the same Toyota feature as soon as this week.

However, there are plenty of questions unanswered right now. Not least, we don’t yet know which vehicles will be included when Apple Car Key support launches.

It is unclear when Toyota will roll out support for ‌Car Keys‌ to its vehicles, and the company has not yet made any announcements related to the feature, but it is likely to be relatively soon since the feature is now live on Apple’s back end.

A number of carmakers already include support for Apple’s Car Key features including BMW, Genesis, Kia, Hyundai, Lotus, Mercedes, Volvo, and others. More support from additional carmakers like Porsche is in the works and it appears that Toyota will be one of the next to launch. Audi, Acura, Porsche, GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Rivian, Smart, Lucid Motors, Tata Motors, Hongqi, WEY, Chery, and Voyah are all already announced as adding support “soon.”
