Apple has today announced HomeView, the long-rumored home hub device that also has a display.
Set to sell for $299 when it goes on sale on November 13, the HomeView device is designed to bring HomePod and some iPad features to homes.

HomeView will come in two versions. One is a tabletop device that features a seven-inch square display atop a speaker, similar to a HomePod mini. The other is built to be housed on a wall, with an option to also be installed by professionals.
Similar to a large Apple Watch, the display won’t run apps from the App Store, although Apple says that iPhone apps that also have a CarPlay component will be available.
And with facial recognition built in, the HomeView device will recognize who is looking at it, and switch Apple Accounts accordingly.
HomeView recognizes users by their faces, adapting so they can access their personal content in Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My. HomeView features Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri that’s profoundly more capable and conversational, with broad world knowledge that powers richer music discovery and onscreen awareness. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled device, it can also draw on a user’s personal context, such as their Calendar, Messages, and relevant information across their apps, to provide more helpful, personalized responses.
HomeView will be available in four colors, including silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. Preorders begin today.
