Apple AirPods Release Date Reportedly Set For Next Week Launch

If a new report is anything to go by, Apple’s AirPods release date is now set for next week launch. Here are the details.

You may remember the devastating product blow that came out of nowhere when Apple announced that its proposed late October timeframe for the release of the gorgeous AirPods simply wasn’t going to happen. Stipulating that it needed “a little more time” to get the product and the launch right for the benefit of consumers, Apple has since listed the AirPods as “currently unavailable” for purchase on its online store.

Now, a employee at an official Apple reseller has brought the potential of some good news by declaring his belief that stock of AirPods will arrive on November 17th.

German online publication Apfelpage.de has picked up on the story due to the fact that the official reseller is European and not based in the United States. The employee, who works for a reseller called Conrad, obviously doesn’t want to be named, and can’t be due to how the chat occurred, but the German blog has provided a quote from a customer claiming to have talked to a member of the Conrad online team, which certainly suggests that a sooner rather than later approach will be taking with the launch of the Apple AirPods.

Hello, I have just talked with an employee of the Conrad Online Store, since I am there on 14.10 the AirPods ordered and I wanted to cancel today. According to information from the employee, they have stockpiles from 17.11, I will then have them between November 18-19.

Apple’s original delay of the AirPods was followed up with unofficial suggestions that the company was having supply chain issues and wouldn’t be able to get the AirPods into the marketplace until at least the first month of 2017. Given how well receive the hardware has been purely from the original introduction, that would likely be small disaster for Apple.

There’s no guarantee that this online conversation is real, or that the employee has the necessary knowledge to make such a claim, but it would be fantastic to know that we could get our hands on AirPods in weeks rather than months.

As things stand at the moment officially, sellers like Conrad are still showing 7-8 weeks lead time on the hardware, and Apple is still showing them as unavailable on its online store, and “coming soon” on AirPods’ features page. Let’s hope those estimations change dramatically soon.
