Scheduled Messages Could Soon Come To WhatsApp

Instant messaging platform WhatsApp could be about to add a long-requested feature if a recent beta update is any indication. It suggests that scheduled messages could finally come to WhatsApp in a future update.

The beta watchers at WABetaInfo report that while the feature isn’t yet functional, the latest version of WhatsApp’s beta software has the groundwork already in place.

Users will be able to view scheduled messages in a new area of the WhatsApp app, while the ability to delete scheduled messages before they are sent will also be offered.

After a message is scheduled, WhatsApp will display it in a dedicated section right within the chat info screen. Here, users will be able to view the number of messages they have scheduled and access options to manage them. It’s important to note that users will remain fully in control, as it is possible to delete any scheduled message at any time before it is sent. Deleting a scheduled message does not generate any notification or indication on the recipient’s device, since the message is removed before delivery.

By allowing scheduled messages, WhatsApp would give users the opportunity to write a message and then have it automatically sent to the recipient at a chosen time on a specific date.

The feature is already available on other instant messaging platforms, including Apple’s iMessage. But Meta is yet to add the feature to WhatsApp.
