watchOS 26 Compatible Apple Watch Models: Is Yours On The List?

Here are watchOS 26 compatible Apple Watch models that are worth checking out for you as an Apple Watch user.

Apple announced watchOS 26 during its WWDC opening keynote on June 9, and you might be wondering whether it will work with your own Apple Watch. Now, we have the answer.

Apple announced software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro alongside watchOS 26, and those updates are largely compatible with the same devices as last year’s update.

In the case of watchOS 26, it’s a similar story.

  • Apple has confirmed that watchOS 26 can be installed on the following Apple Watches.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2
  • Apple Watch Ultra
  • Apple Watch Series 10
  • Apple Watch Series 9
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Series 7
  • Apple Watch Series 6
  • Apple Watch SE (2nd generation)

The watchOS 26 software is set to bring a new interface similar to that of the iOS 26 software, as well as improved notifications and more. It’s currently available to developers in early beta, while a public beta is expected to be released in July.

The final update isn’t set to be released to the public until this fall, likely in September, alongside new Apple Watch models. We can, of course, expect that watchOS 26 will come preinstalled on those new Apple Watches.

It’s worth noting that not all features may be available on some of the older Apple Watch models, so be sure to check for your specific Apple Watch if you’re at all concerned.
