A source close to us (who wishes to remain anonymous) has informed us that iOS 4.3 will indeed bring the “Personal Hotspot” feature to all iPhones in March this year.
The Verizon iPhone 4, which was recently announced today will officially feature a wireless tethering -like feature which will allow it to turn into a mobile hotspot! Dubbed as “Personal Hotspot”, this feature allows up to 5 devices onto the personal network and share the iPhone's cellular data connection. The hotspot itself will come built directly into the OS of the new Verizon iPhone 4, running the new iOS 4.2.5.
Yes you read that right ! An Italian site contacted Comex of Spirit and JailbreakMe fame to ask him about whether or not he is going to release his untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.2.1. Comex’s reply was swift and simple, à la Steve Jobs. He is going to wait for Apple to release the next firmware update to public before releasing his tool.
We have just been tipped off about the possible name for the next jailbreak by Geohot, called Rubyra1n. The domain Rubyra1n.com was registered by the iPhone hacker named George Hotz (aka geohot) on 27th March 2010.
Sources close to MacStories have informed them that Apple is preparing a major update to iOS i.e. iOS 4.3 sometime in December this year. This new update will allow you to subscribe to content like the much talked about News Corp’s iPad-only newspaper, The Daily.
