Android manufacturers aren’t the very best when it comes to supporting their smartphones after the initial point of sale. You get the occasional bug fixes, performance improvements and such, but upgrades to major new versions of Android come way too infrequently and very late. This is in contrast to Apple’s strong support for their devices: the iPhone 3GS is almost more than 3 years old now and is still slated to get iOS 6 later this year.
Version 3.5 of HTC’s custom Android UX Sense was leaked a few days ago and today, a custom ROM featuring Sense 3.5 - based on Android 2.3.4 “Gingerbread” - has been released which works on the HTC Desire HD.
We just love the way how HTC comes up with quality handsets: Nexus One, HTC HD2, HTC Desire and the EVO 4G are prime examples of this. And to push that limit even further, HTC has just announced at their event in London two new Android powered phones: HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z.
