Being the only Google-branded handset in the Android world, Nexus One will always get the first love when it comes to the latest Android bits. And so today, yet another Android 2.2 Froyo Build FRG33 has been leaked into the wild. This new leaked build is reportedly “very very fast” than the stock OTA update FRF91, and it comes with a new radio as well.
Nexus One keeps getting the best and latest stuff before any other Android handset, and why not when it is the only Google branded phone out there! Google today has delivered yet another OTA update for Nexus One users. The rollout of this new Build FRF91 has started already and so don’t panic and wait patiently until the update is available for your phone.
If you are on a modded Nexus One, with either a root on the stock Android 2.1, or with the HTC Desire ROM and are too lazy to return to stock to receive the OTA update, this method is for you. As a pre-requisite, you will need to have an unlocked bootloader, and root access on your Nexus One. You will also need to have the patched recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img recovery on your N1.
Most of you might have already know by now that Google has started rolling out Android 2.2 Froyo for Nexus One users via an OTA download. If you are on a stock Android 2.1 and waiting for the update to arrive, you can alternatively download and install the update manually too. And for those of you who are on a modded Nexus One can simply download and install the pre-rooted Android 2.2 FRF50 update by following the instructions posted here.
Finally the wait is over for Android fans! Android 2.2 Froyo has been officially unveiled at the Google I/O 2010 conference today. It has tons of new features and improvements over the previous Android 2.1 Éclair version. Here is a list of everything which is new to this release.
A video has popped up which shows Nexus One running the upcoming Android 2.2 Froyo update. It is difficult to say whether or not this is really the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update running on the Nexus One, but one thing which we are sure of is that it look different, as also apparent from the screenshot below. Video after the break.
Great news for Android users! If you have been waiting for an update to Android 2.1, well your prayers have been half-answered. There’s now a huge possibility that a major OTA update is coming soon. Rumor has it that the Google branded Nexus One is going to be the first handset to get the update. But for other Android phones, 2.2 update may still be far off considering the fact that many are still stuck on version 1.6, let alone 2.x.
