Sony today announced that it is hiking the price of its PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal devices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan.
In a blog post detailing the news, Sony said that due to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape, we’ve made the decision to increase the prices of PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player globally.”

The announcement continued, saying that the company is aware “that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide.”
As for the new prices, the biggest increase was reserved for the PS5 Pro, which will soon cost $899.99 rather than the $749. The other consoles saw smaller bumps in price.
U.S.
- PS5 – $649.99
- PS5 Digital Edition – $599.99
- PS5 Pro – $899.99
U.K.
- PS5 – £569.99
- PS5 Digital Edition – £519.99
- PS5 Pro – £789.99
Europe
- PS5 – €649.99
- PS5 Digital Edition – €599.99
- PS5 Pro – €899.99
Japan

You do still have time to beat those increases, though. Sony says that they will come into effect on April 2, so you have a few days left if you want to pay the old, smaller prices.
Whether this will be the last price increase is unclear, but it certainly isn’t the first.
