Samsung Announces New Foldables: Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, More

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE.

The company is now on its seventh generation of foldables, way ahead of Apple, who’s still rumored to be working on its first foldable iPhone for 2026. Let’s break down what’s new.

Galaxy Z Fold7

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is Samsung’s most premium foldable yet. When closed, the outer screen is 6.5-inches, but once you open it up, it expands to a roomy 8 inches. Despite the size, it’s now just 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, making it slimmer than the previous Fold6.

Samsung had to make a few sacrifices to achieve this size. The S-Pen support is gone this year, which may disappoint some power users. Still, the Fold7 is lighter at 215 grams, even undercutting the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, and it runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, promising 38% faster CPU performance and 26% faster GPU speeds.

On the camera side, you’ll find: A 10MP selfie camera on the front

  • A 10MP ultra-wide front camera
  • A 200MP wide-angle main camera
  • A 200MP wide-angle main camera
  • A 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto on the back

Galaxy Z Flip7

The Z Flip7 is Samsung’s smaller, more fun foldable. It opens up to a 6.9-inch display, but what’s interesting is the new 4.1-inch FlexWindow on the front. It’s still not a full app experience, but it can run Google Gemini and other quick tools.

Folded, it’s only 13.7mm thick, making it the thinnest Z Flip yet. It also shares the new Armor FlexHinge with the Fold7, which aims to reduce the crease (though it’s still visible).

Camera highlights include:

  • 50MP main camera
  • 12MP ultra-wide
  • 10MP selfie cam

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE

Samsung also introduced a cheaper option, the Z Flip7 FE. It’s not as slim and resembles last year’s Flip6, with a 3.4-inch front screen and 6.7-inch main display. But it’s priced more affordably, starting at $899.

Also New: Galaxy Watch8 and Watch Ultra

Alongside the phones, Samsung also unveiled:

  • Galaxy Watch8 & Watch8 Classic: thinner, brighter, and now with dual-frequency GPS
  • Watch Ultra: more premium and sporty
  • New health tools like Bedtime Guidance, Antioxidant Index, and Vascular Load for sleep and stress tracking

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders are open now:

  • Galaxy Z Fold7 starts at $1,999
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 starts at $1,099
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 FE starts at $899

If you’ve been waiting to try a foldable, this might just be the generation that gets it right—especially with that sleeker design and lighter build.
