PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.50 is Out Now ! Supports Playback of 3D Blu-ray Movies !

If you’re a big fan of 3D movies and own a PlayStation 3 console, then there’s a big treat waiting for you! Sony has just pushed firmware version 3.50 for PlayStation 3 which now adds the ability to playback 3D Blu-ray movies right on your PS3.

3D Blu-ray movies are the future of movies as we know it ! Firmware 3.50 for the PS3 adds the ability to playback 3D Blu-ray movies right on your console. All you need is a TV that supports 3D output. Also included in the new PS3 firmware 3.50:

    • Facebook Integration: Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have more interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access public information on Facebook – including user name, profile, uploaded photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.
    • Grief Reporting Function: Users can send claim reports directly from the XMB for any inappropriate messages they receive from other PlayStation Network users. This feature is accessible from the option menu of the messages list in the FRIENDS category.

To run 3D Blu-ray movies, you need to have an HDMI cable running from your PS3 all the way to your TV which supports 3D, your PS3 and 3DTV will automatically detect your settings if HDMI settings are set to auto!
