Rumors of Apple’s plans for the iPhone 18 Pro’s Dynamic Island have filled headlines in recent days. Now, a new leak appears to offer a more definitive example of what buyers can expect when the iPhone 18 Pro ships in 2027.
We’ve known that the iPhone 18 Pro’s Dynamic Island would change for some time, with Apple rumored to have plans to move the Face ID technology beneath the display. That would reduce the number of physical display cutouts required.

However, recent reports have suggested a range of things, including one that suggested the Dynamic Island could move to the top-left of the display.
Now, leaker Ice Universe has taken to X to share an image of what the iPhone 18 Pro’s Dynamic is expected to look like.
According to the leak, the new cutout width of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models will be just 13.49mm, down from the 20.76mm of the current Pro models. That’s a 35% reduction, with the Dynamic Island still appearing in the top-center of the display.

It’s unclear what Apple will do with the Dynamic Island given this news, however. Much of the Dynamic Island is software, allowing it to shrink and expand as needed. The news means that Apple could possibly make the Dynamic Island itself much smaller when it isn’t being used to display information.
