P0sixninja Claims To Have Found iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak Exploits

As far as prominent figures in the jailbreak community go, Joshua Hill – also known as P0sixninja – is up there with the best of them. If you remove his various public Twitter based meltdowns from the equation, you are left with a person who has undoubtedly been one of the most important components in the production of recent jailbreaks. Although we haven’t heard a great deal from him since his rather acrimonious departure from the Chronic Dev Team, it looks like he could be potentially about to propel himself back to the top of the pecking order after claiming to have all the necessary exploits required for the production of a new jailbreak.

The bold claims have come courtesy of the famed developer’s Twitter account, which we have seen in the past is his personal social platform of choice to make any jailbreak based announcements. With most of the recent jailbreak based attention being lavished on the Evad3rs team, it seems we could be about to see Hill step back into the limelight with his claims that it "looks like the next jailbreak might be created entirely by me".

The original tweet claiming that the next jailbreak could be a solo effort was quickly followed up with a second post that confirmed a few additional details: "Evad3rs haven’t gone anywhere, I’ve just discovered all the needed exploits on my own over the last few months". If the claims in the Twitter posts do turn out to be accurate then it looks like those die hard jailbreak fans who have been holding off updating their devices to the latest public firmware might not need to wait for a great deal longer. Though he hasn’t confirmed whether he will release it for iOS 6.1.3, or wait till a major version of iOS (7.0) is released later this year.

At this moment, there isn’t a great deal of additional info known about the current status of a future iOS liberation. P0sixninja doesn’t claim to have a jailbreak working on currently unsupported firmwares, nor has he shown off any type of video of his exploits in action. The potential is there for the exploits to be reserved in the hope that they still apply when Apple announce and release iOS 7. Still, it’s great news to see that work is still ongoing behind the scenes. We’ll bring you more as this one unfolds.
