iOS 26 Beta Hints At A New Sleep Score Feature Coming To The Apple Watch

Apple is currently running a developer beta for the iOS 26 iPhone software update, and it’s the latest beta release that might have hinted at a future Apple Watch sleep feature.

According to code spotted in the iOS 26 beta, new imagery appears to suggest that a new sleep score is in the works. The image appears to be related to the Health app and shows an Apple Watch with a figure.

An image buried in the Health app code features an Apple Watch with an “84” on it. Around the sides of the number, there are three bars that are the same colors as some of the sleep stages that can be tracked with the Apple Watch. The orange could represent time awake, the lighter blue may correspond with REM sleep, and the darker blue could be Core or Deep sleep.

Alongside the Apple Watch image, there is also imagery that shows a bed, an alarm clock, a moon, and a “zzz” symbol. This all goes to further suggest that this is a sleep-related feature.

MacRumors reports that the image is named “Watch Focus Score,” suggesting that there will be a score applied to some sort of metric.

The report notes that there are no other hints at what this feature could be, but its presence in the iOS 26 beta suggests that something is clearly in the works.

Apple is expected to release iOS 26, watchOS 26, and other software updates in September alongside new iPhones and Apple Watches.
