iOS 26 Beta 1 On iPhone 11, 12, 13 Performance Test

Here’s iOS 26 beta 1 on iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 performance test. Will it slow down your old iPhone?

Apple announced the new iOS 26 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 9, and the first developer beta was released immediately following that event.

That means people are installing it around the world right now, but should they? And how well does it perform on older devices in particular?

While every iOS beta should be expected to have bugs and issues, early betas of a big new release like iOS 26 are usually the worst. Performance on older devices is often one aspect that suffers the most, and YouTuber iAppleBytes set out to put a few older devices through their paces to see how things stood up.

There’s a full video that you can watch to get the lowdown as well as chapter markers for the iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13 so you can skip to the one most like your own device. We’ve seen reports of bugs and performance issues on even the most recent of iPhones, so it’s perhaps to be expected that problems should be expected. But just how bad is it?

According to the video, it seems that Geekbench CPU scores for the older iPhones were only a few points behind previous software releases, suggesting that iOS 26 beta 1 is off to a strong start. However, your mileage may vary, and again, this doesn’t account for the weird bugs and battery life issues that you will also likely experience, too.
