Apple has today made the iOS 18.6 final release notes available for iPhone. Here are the details.
The software is now available in beta form and is expected to be released to the public as soon as next week.

The release notes were first spotted by Aaron Zollo, who noted that Apple has renamed the iOS 18.6 beta 4 update simply as iOS 18.6, suggesting that this is the Release Candidate and will likely be the version made available for public download.
The release notes show that this update is more about fixing bugs than it is adding new features. One fix relates to an issue that affected the sharing of memories in the Photos app.
“This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, and fixes an issue in Photos that could prevent memory movies from being shared,” Apple’s preemptive release notes say.

This update is likely to be one of the last before the iOS 26 update is released to the public in September.
That update is currently also available in beta, albeit only to developers, and is set to bring with it a new Liquid Glass design language as well as new features. Updates for the Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro are also set to be released at the same time.
