How to enable MMS on iPhone 2G running iPhone OS 3.0

We all know the lies Apple made when they said that the first-gen iPhone cannot do MMS due to hardware limitation. Leaving out the first-gen iPhone users in the cold was a planned move than anything else. They wanted you to spend more bucks to buy a new device even when the older one could perfectly do the job. Same goes for video recording as well.

And now a Russian kid named Geniusan has caught Apple with their pants down. He has found a way to enable MMS functionality natively in the Messages app for the first-gen iPhone. Yes, you can now send and receive MMS messages without having to install a third party app like SwirlyMMS.

Follow the step by step procedure shown in the video below to get full-featured MMS functionality in your first-gen iPhone. You will need to have a jailbroken iPhone to get this working. Follow the procedure here to first jailbreak your iPhone (if you haven’t already) and then follow the steps demonstrated in the video below.

I wonder if Apple will continue to say that there is a "hardware limitation" that prevents the original iPhone from doing MMS? At this pace, it wont be long before someone finds a way which enables video recording natively for iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G users.
