Here’s How PlayStation VR2 Controllers Work With Apple Vision Pro

When Apple announced the new visionOS 26 software update at WWDC on June 9, the company confirmed new features for the Apple Vision Pro.

One of those features was support for PlayStation VR2 controllers, and now a new YouTube video shows just how everything works.

The Apple Vision Pro has always supported gaming, but the lack of any controllers for precision work has held it back somewhat. By adding support for Sony’s controllers, the door has now been opened for more traditional AR games to be made for Apple’s spatial computer.

While visionOS 26 is only available in developer beta, YouTuber ‘Nathie on YouTube’ has given us our first look at what the controller support looks like.

As the video shows, using the controllers works as you would expect, even when navigating through the visionOS system. The user can look at what they want to select and then use the controller’s trigger to complete the action. The controller’s sticks can also be used to navigate through apps and scroll pages.

Unfortunately, there are no games available that take proper advantage of the new controller support just yet, but that will surely change. Apple is expected to release the new visionOS 26 software to the public this fall, so expect game developers to have their wares ready to go around that time also.
