If you dig flat looking geometric designs, then these 141 Material Design inspired wallpapers are bound to make your day, and the best part is, you can use them on any device you might have.
As an Android fan myself, I actually found the original Material Design wallpapers from Google somewhat distasteful, and sure the design was flat and harmonious with the overall UI of Lollipop, but some extra motivation by the company for its designers would have gone a far way.
The collection put together by Brian Parkerson consists of wallpapers that were designed using Project Minima and includes the works of Google+ users J. Amourette, Jose Carlos Bejarano, and Josh Oleksyn. These are wallpapers that actually make me re-assess my verdict on Material Design, and while still sporting flat and geometric designs, these walls will not make your device scream ‘geometry box’.
I love how there are hints of texture in some wallpapers as well, giving a surreal depth perception to an otherwise flat design, and it looks fantastic. That said, while some of the designs are top notch in quality, the slightly lower resolution on some of the wallpapers may serve you with unimpressive sharpness on FHD or Quad-HD screens. For 720p displays and lower, and to some extent full-HD displays as well, this collection is a gold mine for when Lollipop updates start hitting some devices.
Earlier when Google released its preview builds for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013), a few included wallpapers were also leaked on the Internet, and while it did make headlines, the collection just lacked that oomph you would have come to expect from an OS that is basing its appeal on its redesign to quite a large extent.
