Google and Apple’s partnership has been a shaky one at best, especially when it comes to iOS devices. Earlier on, Apple dropped Google Maps integration from iOS as the default maps and navigation app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in favor of its own Maps app, and YouTube was pulled from the list of stock apps as well, forcing Google to make both of these apps user-downloadable ones from the App Store. Now, it seems, that the default search provider for iOS Safari browser is up for grabs as well, as Google’s contract is close to termination, and sources say that Bing and Yahoo! are both vying for the top spot.

Microsoft’s latest iOS app aims to make traversing the English capital of London as easy as possible, and Bing Get Me There may prove invaluable for anyone heading to the imminent Olympic games. With the Olympics currently kicking off all across London, there are bound to be plenty of people roaming the streets of the English capital, and as is the case so often these days the chances are they will be turning to their smartphones for directions. If they happen to have an iPhone in their pockets and don’t mind using something branded with Microsoft’s Bing, then this new app could well be right up their well navigated street.

Microsoft has today released a new piece of beta software, and this time it’s search-based. Called the Bing Desktop Beta, the software is, predictably, a beta release of a desktop-based search tool that Microsoft is hoping will give people a reason to make the switch to its search engine, and leave Google behind once and for all.

Microsoft has kicked off an ad campaign featuring Bing’s new Facebook integration functionality. Microsoft might be working on creating a rival tablet operating system but that hasn’t stopped the boys from Redmond bringing its Bing app to Apple’s iPad. This is the fifth app which has come out of Microsoft for the iPhone/iOS platform, the other four being OneNote for iPhone, Bing for iPhone, Seadragon Mobile, and Microsoft Tag.

Windows 7 has this great option of allowing its users to set themes to customize their desktops the they want. The problem is that these themes are mostly limited to a few wallpapers after which it all starts to get boring again. This is where the new “Bing Dynamic” theme comes in! According to the sources at TechCrunch, the next version of iPhone OS, which is set to release this June will have Bing as its default search engine in Mobile Safari. Microsoft and Apple have reportedly been in talks over a possible search deal since January of this year, but since then there has been no real news on this.

Bing iPhone App by Microsoft

Microsoft has finally released the official Bing app for the iPhone platform. This is infact the third app which has come out of Microsoft for the iPhone platform, the two other being Seadragon Mobile and Microsoft Tag for iPhone. Bing app is also available for Windows Mobile and RIM BlackBerry devices.
