Apple has today released a slew of new software updates to developers, including iOS 18.6 beta 2.
The new iPhone software has been released alongside new updates for the Mac, Apple Watch, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. These new updates are betas, but we expect that they will be released to the public in the coming weeks.

These beta 2 releases are unusual for Apple, with its big new summer releases normally the only ones that get multiple beta versions. Alongside iOS 18.6, Apple has also released beta 2 versions of iPadOS 18.6, macOS Sequoia 15.6, watchOS 11.6, tvOS 18.6, and visionOS 2.6 to developers.
However, anyone hoping for big new software updates and features is going to be left disappointed. Instead, these new features are designed to focus on new bug fixes and stability updates, which means we suggest that everyone should install them as soon as possible.
We don’t yet know exactly when these new software updates will be released to the public, but we expect it to be relatively soon. Apple continues to work on beta versions of the iOS 26 and other software updates, we expect that those updates will be made available to the public in September.

Apple’s big new fall software update will likely coincide with the release of the iPhone 17 and new Apple Watches this fall.
