Apple Is Testing AI Chatbot Support Assistant In The Apple Support App

Looks like Apple’s finally dipping its toes into AI-powered support. A new chatbot-style assistant is now live in early preview for some iPhone users through the Apple Support app, and yes, it’s very ChatGPT-like.

If you’re one of the lucky ones, you’ll now see a “Chat” button in the app’s navigation bar.

Tapping it launches the new Support Assistant, which can help answer questions about your Apple devices and services. Basically things like troubleshooting, feature walk-throughs, or general “how do I do this?” queries.

But don’t expect it to spill secrets about unreleased products. It’s strictly focused on customer support, no Apple rumors or future product talk here.

If the chatbot doesn’t solve your issue, there’s a smooth hand-off option to talk to a real human from Apple Support. So you’re not stuck with just the AI.

Apple does point out that the Support Assistant is experimental and “may make mistakes.” So yeah, don’t rely on it for critical stuff without double-checking.

No official word yet on when it’ll roll out to everyone, but it’s definitely a big step toward smarter, faster support inside Apple’s ecosystem.
