Apple Announces New iPad Air With M4, N1, And C1X

Apple has today announced the new M4-powered iPad Air, with both 11- and 13-inch models available. The new tablet will be available for preorder from $599 starting this Wednesday, March 4.

The updated iPad Air comes with the M4 chip, replacing the previous M3 version that is on sale currently.

Apple says that the upgraded model comes with a faster GPU and CPU which means that it will be faster when playing games and working with large media files. It also offers faster AI performance thanks to its upgraded Neural Engine and higher memory bandwidth. In fact, the tablet also comes with 50% more unified memory to make the new tablet even speedier.

Apple says that the M4 iPad Air is up to 30% faster than the previous M3 model and 2.3x faster than the iPad Air with an M1 chip. The new tablet also comes with Apple’s in-house connectivity chips, the N1 and C1X. Both chips offer faster wireless and cellular connectivity than the previous models — including support for WiFi 7.

The new M4 iPad Air starts at $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the larger 13-inch model, with both also available in cellular configurations. The tablets will be available in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray, and come with 128GB of storage as standard.

The new iPad Air models will be available for preorder starting March 4, before officially going on sale on March 11.
