Official YouTube App Is Now Available For Apple Vision Pro Owners

After more than two years of forcing YouTube fans to use Safari to watch their favorite videos, Google has finally launched a dedicated Apple Vision Pro app.

The free app is now available for download in the visionOS App Store, and includes all of the features that we have come to expect.

It also brings with it features that are specific to headsets like the Apple Vision Pro, including 360-degree videos.

  • Explore every video on YouTube, from 3D 360 and VR180 videos to standard rectangular videos and Shorts
  • Get the full, signed-in experience that lets you view subscriptions, playlists, watch history and more.
  • Enjoy videos in 8K (Apple Vision Pro M5 only).

It’s notable that only owners of the newer M5 Apple Vision Pro will be able to enjoy what is sure to be a standout feature — support for 8K video streaming.

The M5 chip is faster than the M2 that powers the original headset, and it’s important to remember that the Apple Vision Pro must drive two displays, not just one. 8K videos require a lot of processing power in order to move all of those pixels around.

Apple Vision Pro owners can download the app right now. If you aren’t seeing it just yet, hang fire, new apps sometimes take a little while to propagate around the world.
