Porsche announced previously that it intended to bring support for Apple’s Digital Keys to its 2026 Cayenne and Macan EVs earlier this year. Now, it appears that a launch is just around the corner.
That’s according to a MacRumors report which notes that Apple has “now enabled the required infrastructure on its backend, meaning that Porsche simply needs to roll the feature out”.

That suggests that the Digital Key support is now just around the corner, with the feature potentially going live very soon indeed.
Digital Keys live within the Wallet app on iPhones and Apple Watches and allow those devices to wirelessly unlock and start the Cayenne and Macan. Those devices don’t even need to be powered on, meaning owners will be able to access and start their vehicles even if their battery dies.
Users of the Wallet app will also be able to share their keys with others via instant messaging apps and emails, allowing those people to access those vehicles as if they had a physical key to hand.

Porsche’s original August 2025 announcement confirmed that compatible Android phones will also be able to support Digital Keys. MacRumors points out that Samsung earlier this week announced that its own Samsung Wallet will also support Porsche Digital Keys beginning with some 20206 models. That also suggests that Digital Key support is now closer to launch than ever before.
