ive been using it 4 about 3 days its qwick fast as xp qwicker than vista .its got some nice features the tool bar media players simaler iam running it on qwad core 4 gig of ram 1250 hd .there is a couple of problems ive noticed with drivers accepts some and not others .i went 2 install 2008 tune up 2 change the screen saver it soon spatit out and xp screen savers came up apart from that it seems ok oversaly its not due out yet by that time all the problems should of been sorted

hp doesn’t offer support for HP LaserJet 1010 on Windows Vista.

I know, but I’m just saying that so many people seem to be whining about the “difficulties” of using Vista. Then again, by the same token, most Linux users think that Windows is a dumbed down system and that we Windows users are too stupid to Google any problem we have. I wasn’t by any means trying to compare the two, however.

You cant compare vista by any means with linux, i mean linux is mostly running on donations and is open-source, while microsoft spends some billions of dollars for its production.

I have a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz and working satisfactory with Vista, yet i play Company of Heroes, Call of Duty 2 & 4 with no problem! Drivers is just a matter of time or for 1010 you are unlucky! Ask HP for support and why they didn’t make anything!

I was using Vista for more than half a year and couldn’t bear with all the problems it brought along. There were no drivers for my laserjet 1010 printer, yet it didn’t accept XP drivers. Atop of that, I couldn’t run any game for more than 10 minutes.

AMD64 3200+ is compatible with Vista and with all the games, so was 1GB of RAM and Geforce 7800GT. The problem was in OS, not the hardware. I hope W7 won’t have such problems. Or I’ll still stick to XP.

i use vista for 1 year now and i have no complains about it. the only thing that i don’t really like is the aero interface. when i turn aero off then my pc runs as fast as the old winXP.
the best thing in vista is in my oppinion the “user account control”. on the other hand i don’t like how it behaves on big setup files (>500MB). even if i right click the file and chose “run as administrator” it checks if administrative privileges are required. i don’t understand why the user account control is checking this file when i already gave it the administrative privileges.
i hope that the windows development team really uses vista in their everyday work. they should really experience by themselves the bugs.
