What is Robbie Bach talking about, when he raves on about the marketing success of 'Windows Phone'? It can't be the falling market share, or the OEMs that are all rapidly phasing out Windows Mobile. What success is he talking about?

I actually look forward to the great unveiling of Windows Mobile 7 at the MWC in February. I'm interested to see what they've got. Microsoft had better have something very substantive to show.

I don't think the industry will stand for any more delaying tactics from Microsoft. They've gotta show something big in WM7, or "get out of Dodge" as one analyst famously said. Anyway, February is the promised time. I think it'll either be really big, or a complete fiasco.

what a load of marketing rubbish!

i've never heard such a massive amount of air come from anyone's mouth with so little information.
not a single solid data point in any of this guys answers to questions put to him. he prattles on for minutes on-end about absolutely nothing and after listening to him you're left wondering "i heard him talk a lot, but where's my answer?"

he simply avoids, and dodges the questions about "why hasn't Zune done so well? why is Windows Mobile doing badly?"

all he talks about is how "confident and happy" he is "with the direction we're going in" and how "we'll be where we need to be in 1-2 years, i'lll meet you on the other side" !?

what the hell is he talking about?

no one asked about his personal feelings about his team, or if he's happy and confident. he was asked about why the "bar" that he says "we'll push it out there" isn't out there NOW.

the basic questions were about why Microsoft weren't performing well with Windows Mobile and Zune, about if Microsoft will survive in a multi-OS environment.
there was no answer, except to say "never mind that, have you seen our internal builds of WinMo 7? they're awesome and i am very happy with the direction we're going, Linux has brazillions of versions too many and that tree needs to be trimmed yo!"

basically not answering the question and saying "we'll do better i promise"

and this guy gets paid for this?
