Watch: Game Of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Trailer Released [Video]

HBO has released 80-second teaser trailer for the upcoming season 6 of the insanely popular Game of Thrones fantasy drama television show. The American cable network company has already taken the opportunity to announce that season 6 of the show will start to air in the United States on Sunday, April 24. That announcement was followed up approximately four weeks later with the release of a number of high-resolution stills showing various popular characters in action from the new series. Excitement is on the rise for this one, and HBO is fueling that excitement by publishing additional content in the run up to April 24.

The 80-second teaser video is set in the Hall of Faces, a location that was initially introduced to Game of Thrones viewers in the last season. It’s very difficult to show an upbeat, positive trailer for a series like GoT, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the action in this particular teaser focuses on the disembodied faces of popular characters who have been lost in the series thus far. Of course, fans of the series want to see what’s to come as well, so the teaser also takes the opportunity to highlight those popular characters who have managed to survive being killed off in the series thus far. That includes a view of Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, Bran Stark, and Jon Snow.

As mentioned earlier, HBO initially set the scene for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones by officially announcing the release date for the season back in January. That announcement didn’t really come with any additional value in terms of teaser images or videos, but it was certainly enough to whet the appetite of GoT fans across the world. The fire of excitement was most recently stoked when HBO took the next logical steps of introducing some still image marketing shots from the season 6 showing characters like Arya, Sansa, Dany, Margaery, Tyrion, Cersei, Tyrion Lannister and others all in action in one form or another.

What’s interesting is that season 6 represents the point in Game of Thrones when the TV show actually overtakes the books that thrust the fantasy drama into the limelight in the first place and inspired George R.R. Martin to write such a magical piece of television. No longer can fans of the books predict what’s going to happen as we progress into the unknown.
