I had the same carrier not recognised issues, to fix it for baseband 05.11.07 you need to uninstall ultrasn0w (if installed), then install blacksn0w and viola all sorted!

GUYS! I installed ultrasn0w from cydia and had the “No Service” message, even after pushing on-screen “Reboot” button after ultrasn0w install.

All I had to do is to power off and on my iPhone MANUALLY (using power off button) and everything started to work!

I'm In the EXACT SAME BOAT….I did everything from 1 through 5…I have iPhone 3G 16gb…3.1.2 firmware…I downgraded from the 5.11 baseband down to 4.26 because blacksn0w/blackra1n method didnt work after 7 attempts…tried ultrasn0w through cydia…nothing seems to work…all I get is the (_–) immediately followed by “Searching…” for a long time then eventually “No Service”.

Does anyone know what to do please?

Tried that too.

I already tried the following:

1. Update the iphone using latest itunes to 3.1.2
2. Use Blackra1n and install cydia and sn0w using that.
3. Install blacksn0w using cydia source
4. Install ultrasn0w latest
5. Downgrading the baseband using Fuzzyband to 4
6. Use older version of ultrasn0w
7. Downgrading the OS to 3.1/3.0 and try with ultrasn0w
8. Use the custom firmware to restore and use ultrasn0w

I am out of luck!!

Every possible ways I tried but still shows “NO SERVICE”
