Traverse Lets You Create Custom 3D Touch Quick Actions For Any App [Video]

Traverse is a new jailbreak tweak that reminds us once again why the jailbreak scene can be so absolutely awesome. Traverse is one of those tweaks that you really need to install, though you’ll need an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus in order to truly appreciate it.

That’s because Traverse takes advantage of 3D Touch, and that feature is obviously reserved for Apple’s newest iPhones. You can, however, install the likes of Forcy or revealMenu from Cydia to clone 3D Touch Quick Actions on your older iPhone.

Traverse will allow you to create your own 3D Touch Quick Actions that are commonly invoked by pressing more firmly on an icon from the Home screen. While some apps have been quick to jump on the bandwagon, others haven’t, and that’s where Traverse comes into play.

Creating your own 3D Touch menus means that you can do all kinds of things such as have your favorite Reddit app immediately offer to open a particular subreddit, or maybe have an email client offer an option to instantly open a particular Inbox or folder. You’ll need to know the app’s Bundle ID in order to get this up and running, as well as a URL scheme for Traverse to invoke custom actions. It’s not as nicely polished right now as it can be, but it does work. And that’s all that matters.

You can see the developer’s video below to witness the steps needed in order to make Maps offer an option to take the user home directly from a 3D Touch Quick Action. It’s not a lot, but you’ll need to know what you’re doing. It will all be worth it, though, because Traverse brings 3D Touch menus to apps that haven’t yet been updated to use it properly, if at all.

Traverse can be downloaded for free from the cydia.bolencki13.com/repo repository in Cydia. We highly recommend you do just that.
