This Service Lets You Swap Bands With Other Apple Watch Users

Apple Watch bands literally add that much needed personality to the Cupertino company’s smartwatch, and it’s unnerving to have to wait over a month just for a band. However, things can get much easier if a group of Apple Watch owners got together and swapped their watch’s bands to their likings. This is exactly what a new website is aiming to do.

Enter – iBandSwap, “The place to swap/trade your Apple Watch Bands/Accessories.” There would be plenty of users out there who are not particularly fond of their initial choice of band for their Apple branded watch, and while owners could find comfort in reports suggesting that Apple is looking to offer consumers the chance to swap their bands for another, that service is nowhere in sight for now.

iBandSwap is perfect for users owning an Apple Watch Sport which comes with an additional fluoroelastomer but in a different size. Using iBandSwap, owners will be able to put that unwanted band up for a swap with someone else’s similar but different sized band, or maybe of a different shade for a dual-color effect, but of course, the site has to find a match first. “Maybe you want two mediums, maybe you want two large…maybe you want to sell the complete band to fund a Milanese. Either way, use this site to say what you want and/or what you have and let us match you with someone looking for the same.”

The website is still in its early days so do not expect some miraculous matches at a moment’s notice. The community is still building up as Barclay, the site’s creator, suggests that the website has some 530 people currently registered with over 148 successful matches so far. Interestingly, the trend on the site is also seeing people looking for matches in order to swap links from the stainless steel Link Bracelet given some exceptionally large wrist sizes, since Apple does not take orders for additional links.

It would be interesting to see if the site’s usage is expanded to other Apple Watch accessories in the near future, and depending on the success of iBandSwap and other trading points like BandSwapper, StrapSwap and Band-Band, we could see some locale specific Apple Watch trading points hit the Internet.
