This Camera App Brings Burst Mode To iPhone, Can Take An Incredible 3,600 Shots A Minute!

The advancement of cameras within smartphones has prompted a wave of wannabe photographers, and with a seemingly endless list of apps available for said individuals to hone their new-found skills in the point-and-shoot department, mobile device owners are rather spoilt for choice. In terms of app categories, the photography section of the App Store is perhaps the most heavily loaded, and no matter what kind of snap you’re trying to achieve, there’s bound to be at least one hundred apps vying for your attention. But if you’re hunting for something that can take burst shots like no other, then you needn’t look farther than the appropriately entitled SnappyCam.

You see, while one can already take hundreds of shots per minute using any number of apps available for the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, there’s nothing out there quite like SnappyCam. When set at the minimum resolution, the app can churn out an incredible sixty shots per second, which, as the mathematicians among you will have already found, equates to 3,600 shots per minute.

Of course, you’re probably not actually going to be taking so many shots at any one time with SnappyCam, but if you like creating stop-motion videos, or are simply a perfectionist when it comes to finding that Kodak Moment among many, then this app was designed with folks like you in mind.

The user interface is a little crowded to our minimalist tastes, but does a decent enough job of presenting the various features in an appropriate manner. There’s a digital zoom feature allowing you to home in on your subject, but since the iPhone doesn’t include optical zoom (yet), you’re always going to be better off trying to get closer to the action before snapping, if you wish to achieve optimum quality.

Speaking of quality, the more burst shots you wish to take in one hit, the lower the resolution of the resulting image. Thus, if you’re trying to achieve that perfect shot, you’re much better off keeping the number of snaps down to a minimum, which should in turn leave you with a nice selection of photos to choose from.

For $1.99, it’s well worth checking out over at the App Store. With a plethora of additional features allowing you to efficiently manage your numerous bundles of images, you won’t need to partake in the tiresome rigmarole of one-by-one deletion, so snap up SnappyCam via the link below, and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments!
