This App Automatically Takes A Selfie Every Time You Open Your MacBook Lid

Some people like to take a photo of themselves each day and then stitch them together into one of those videos that go viral. You know the kind we’re talking about, because they show someone age right in front of your very eyes and we can’t get enough of them.

Well, how about a Mac app that makes it easier to get the photos you need to make those videos?

Selfie App does just what that name suggests, because once installed on your Mac it will take a photo using the built-in iSight camera each and every time that machine’s lid is opened. That means that, without having to remember, you’ll have at least one photograph of yourself for every day you use your computer and, if you’re anything like us, that’s going to be more than enough to make one of those aforementioned movies.

The app does offer a security angle too, because if you ever want to know if someone is fiddling with your machine when you’re not there, Selfie App will take a photo of them when they open your Mac’s lid. Got a room mate who just can’t stop using your Mac even though you keep telling them to stop? Now you’ll know for sure and, in the process, get a lovely bit of proof to go along with your accusations.

You’ll want to have a proper use for Selfie App though, because at $4.99 it’s not the kind of app you’re likely to install just for fun. It’s not a fortune by any stretch of the imagination, but why buy it if you’re not going to use it?
