Thieves Caught On Camera Robbing Multiple Apple Stores Stealing $27,000 Worth Of Goodies

With Apple Stores having thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of hardware on display all around the globe it’s perhaps no surprise that there have been instances where thieves have taken it upon themselves to brazenly walk out of stores with product in hand.

We saw reports of exactly that happening in New York last week and now a very similar theft has also taken place in Fresno.

During the latest incident a pair of hooded men walked into an Apple Store before stacking up MacBook computers and simply walking out with them. As security in Apple Stores is somewhat limited, they were able to walk out of the door with what we would estimate to be at least $10,000 in notebooks.

This follows an incident on Friday which saw $19,000 worth of iPhones stolen from a New York Apple Store with five men involved. Again, users walked into a store and simply walked back out again, iPhones in hand. As one video showing the Fresno incident shows, no Apple Store employees attempted to intervene when the robbery was taking place – something they are likely trained to do in order to avoid any potential for injury.

Given the layout and security employees in Apple Stores it is likely that such “shrinkage” is expected to a certain extent, although it’s doubtful that the loss of multiple computers or iPhones in one sitting is something that happens every day. However, it’s likely that Apple expects to “lose” accessories here and there and deems it an acceptable risk that allows it to have store designs that are like no other.

That’s the kind of thing you can do when you have billions of dollars in the bank.
