TaiG 2.1 For iOS 8.3 Released, Here’s How To Get Cydia Substrate Working Right Now [Update]

Ok apparently TaiG 2.1 is out, at least the .deb file posted is legit and from TaiG and is confirmed to be working. If you are already jailbroken with TaiG, you don’t need to re-jailbreak as this one is as easy as installing. deb file.

Since you need to be already jailbroken using TaiG 2.0 for this to work, follow our guide here on how to jailbreak iOS 8.3 if you haven’t already:

Jailbroken? Great. Here’s how to install this. deb file manually and get Cydia Substrate working:

Step 1: Open Cydia and install iFile.

Step 2: Once iFile is installed, close Cydia from multitasking switcher.

Step 3: Open taiguntether83x.deb file in Safari for iOS.

Step 4: Get this .deb file in iFile via Safari by tapping on “Open in iFile”.

Step 5: Install it from iFile.

Step 6: Reboot your iOS device.

Cydia Substrate and most of other issues should now be fixed. Most of your favorite jailbreak tweaks should now be working as well!

We have tested and can confirm that this works.

This will currently only work with devices already jailbroken using TaiG 2.0 for iOS 8.1.3-8.3. TaiG 2.1 jailbreak tool for new users, and this .deb file directly from Cydia repo for existing users, should be available soon. We’ll obviously let you know whenever that happens.

UPDATE x1: Version 2.1.1 of TaiG jailbreak tool is now available. If you haven’t jailbroken using 2.0 yet, you can use 2.1.1 to jailbreak your device. It includes fix for Cydia Substrate, which means you don’t need to install the above .deb file if jailbroken using the latest 2.1.1 jailbreak tool. UPDATE X2: TaiG has pulled the download link of v2.1 untether package, saying it was meant to be for internal testing only and can cause issues with icons disappearing on home screen. The wait continues!
