Rumors around the purported Nexus Two release are heating up. In a post on Android and Me, Taylor Wimberly has reported that Samsung, not HTC, will announce the N2 on 8th November and will be responsible for the hardware part of the phone. This news comes from various “trusted sources”.

Great news for Nexus One owners! It looks like Google has started rolling out Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) for their very own Google Phone, which is more widely known as the Nexus One. The update is available now via OTA (Over-the-Air) download and will take some time before the roll out completes. Keep checking the notification tray for a “System Alert” for Android 2.2 which could be here for you any minute.

Finally, Quake III (aka Quake 3) has been successfully ported to the Google Nexus One! The game runs smoothly with a high frame rate, thanks to Nexus One’s powerful hardware. Compared to the last leaked build ERE36B, kernel and radio remains same, while there are some new changes in system/framework/*, system/app/*.apk and otacerts.zip. The trackball LED on Google Nexus One has the ability to show different colored lights but Google for some reason has programmed it in a way, so that it can only flash one white color. This seems as a step backwards specially when some other Android phones have this ability to flash one or more colors for use with different phone notifications such as missed calls, new mail, SMS and so on.

I have been extensively testing the new HTC Sense from HTC Desire ROM on Nexus One and so far has been very impressed with what HTC has to offer with this new version of Sense experience for Android phones. Paul at Modaco forums has finally released a very alpha version of the HTC Desire ROM with HTC Sense for Nexus One that we posted about a few days ago. The ROM also packs Flash 10.1 for Android along with lots of widgets for the HTC Sense experience. There are some bugs and glitches here and there but since its an alpha ROM, these can be expected.
