Folks behind the Gull1hack tool are also said to be working on a new unlocking tool dubbed Blacksn0w V2 which according to them will ultimately unlock the new iPhone 3.1.3 05.12.01 baseband on iPhone 3GS with new bootrom. I for one wont believe them until they come out with more proof of concept screenshot and videos.

A group of hackers are claiming to have found an exploit which will jailbreak iPhone 3GS with new bootrom and it will be untethered. The exploit appears to work not only in iPhone 3GS models with new bootrom, but also in all iPhone and iPod touch models.

If you accidently updated to the stock iPhone OS 3.1.3 from iTunes and are locked out, you maybe in with a luck as an unlocking tool is said to be out soon. George Hotz has confirmed via his twitter account that he has a working exploit which can unlock the latest 05.12.01 baseband which Apple bundled when they released iPhone 3.1.3 for iPhone and iPod touch earlier this month. While no ETA was given, judging by his tweet, it may not be too long before we get the updated version of blacksn0w which can unlock 05.12.01 baseband on iPhone 3.1.3 firmware.

Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 is now available for download which can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G and iPhone 3GS (old bootrom only) on iPhone OS 3.1.3. Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 for Windows brings jailbreak for iPhone 2G, 3G and iPhone 3GS (older bootroms only) which can preserve your older baseband while upgrading you to the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3 firmware. Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 has been released which can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G and iPhone 3GS on the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware. One thing which is to be noted here is that it will work with iPhone 3GS only if it has the older bootrom (non-MC model). iPhone 3GS users who have upgraded to the stock 3.1.3 are still out of luck.

George Hotz (aka geohot) has confirmed via his twitter account today that his blackra1n and blacksn0w tools are currently not compatible with the latest iPhone 3.1.3 firmware. This new firmware brings 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G which restricts jailbreaking and unlocking on newer devices.

The father of iPhone Jailbreak who first unlocked the original iPhone back in 2007, followed by unlocking iPhone 3GS last year and the person who was responsible for blackra1n and blacksn0w tools has finally released the exploit for hacking PS3. In a blog post today, he explained that the PS3 exploit which he has released “gives full memory access and therefore ring 0 access from OtherOS”.
