At the Royal School of Artillery in Wiltshire, UK, iPads are used in classrooms to train soldiers. Early reports indicate that this experiment so far has been successful in accelerating their learning, thanks largely to the natural interactive experience which is said to have been responsible for this.

It was indeed very sweet and thoughtful of Stefan Magdalinski, a guy from South Africa to come up with this great idea of wrapping an iPad in a chocolate bar, on the eve of his beloved wife’s birthday. The guy in fact shot two birds with one stone. His wife is not only a chocolate lover, but also a great Apple fan too! And so he not only gave her that big 1.5 lbs chocolate bar which she loves to eat, but also Apple iPad all the way from London (iPad is not available in South Africa yet) which she always wanted.

Now things are taking a U-turn again, or sort of anyway. If you thought that Microsoft has buried the Courier project somewhere in their labs, you might be wrong, as it now looks like that some parts of that ambitious Courier project may return in the upcoming Tablets from Microsoft. Recently, Bill Gates in an interview said that Microsoft is working on Tablets which would use a pen-based input method (as opposed to finger-only mechanism in Apple iPad) which would go mainstream in students.

Apple has just released the final version of iPhone OS 3.2, along with SDK for iPad. This final version of iPhone OS 3.2 and SDK for iPad has been released only a few days before the first batch of iPad pre-orders ships this coming weekend on April 3rd. The last Beta 5 was released on March 18th, and Beta 4 was released earlier this same month. This is an iPad only release.
