Substrate Safe Mode 0.9.6000 Update Released, Adds iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Support

Saurik has just released Substrate Safe Mode version 0.9.6000 on Cydia for jailbroken devices. This new version of Substrate Safe Mode not only adds support for iOS 10.0.x-10.2 jailbreak, but also makes jailbroken devices safer to operate than before.

For those of you who are keeping a track of releases, version 0.9.6000 comes almost two years after the previous 0.9.5000 release, and is immediately available as an update on Cydia Installer.

In case you don’t already know, Substrate Safe Mode is designed to help jailbroken devices remain usable when issues arise following the installation of incompatible or problematic tweaks, making it possible to debug and remove all such packages as easily as possible.

According to the changelog of Substrate Safe Mode 0.9.6000, the new version is “arguable safer? on iOS 10”, more specifically on yalu102 jailbreak for iOS 10.2, “but if you are using the older Yalu for iOS 10.0-10.1.1 jailbreaks, including the final “b3″, clicking Restart will cause the device to lock up so will need to reboot. This continues to be a known issue with this jailbreak.”

To update to this latest version of Substrate Safe Mode, launch the Cydia Installer, tab on the Changes tab on the bottom bar and wait for it to reload all the new packages available. Once loaded, simply update to get onto the new version.

You might be required to reboot your device after the installation. It’s important to note that since yalu102 is a semi-untethered jailbreak, you will be required to put your device back into jailbreak mode after reboot, instructions for which can be found here: Re-Jailbreak iOS 10.2 Yalu102 After Reboot, Here’s How.
