Thanks, this was very helpful.

The problem I now have is that everything in my Recorded TV is being protected by DRM. How do I get around this?

I found a much easier solution:

1)map a network drive of the folder on the pc you want to monitor.
2)create a shortcut to that folder in put it in the recorded tv folder for the pc you are using
3)open vista media center settings..tv..recorder..add watched folders
and the shortcut will show up as a folder
4)check it....voila!

you may have to reboot but it worked fine for me without a hitch

Taimur, thank you for writing this guide. It really helped me out after reading other guides that were incomplete. I think most are missing the anonymous sam enumeration setting.

I would offer an alternative to using TweakMC: you can add/edit the registry key directly to change the WatchedFolders:
1. start, run, regedit
2. browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording
3. add a MultiString and name it WatchedFolders
4. set the value to \\servername\sharename

Reboot the client media center and it should be OK.

Also, you can do deletions from the client if you set the following permissions on the Recorded TV folder:
NTFS (Security Tab)
Anonymous Logon: modify

Share Permissions:
Anonymous Logon: modify
Everyone: modify

If you try to delete a recorded tv show from the client computer, Media Center will warn the user that the file was read only but has been removed from the local library. Kinda nifty if you aren't comfortable with deleting from another computer.

Thanks again.
