SemiRestore 11 Lite For iOS 11 Electra Jailbreak Released, Here Are The Details

Great news jailbreak fans! Those with an iOS 11 jailbroken device, which has been liberated using CoolStar’s Electra jailbreak, are now able to download and use SemiRestore 11 Lite in order to remove all tweaks from their jailbroken device and bring it back to stock-like jailbroken state.

SemiRestore Lite 11 is one of the latest tools to be released from CoolStar for jailbroken devices which will help jailbreakers restore some sanity to their hardware should they feel it necessary.

As the “Lite” monicker in the name suggests, this tool isn’t going to entirely restore a jailbroken device back to its non-jailbroken state. What it will instead do is take the device back to a state of jailbreak without any tweaks or additional services installed. Once SemiRestore 11 Lite has been installed from the default Electra repository of CoolStar in Cydia, using it is actually relatively simple:

  1. First and foremost, you will need to SSH into the device from a computer.
  2. Once a connection has been made, run this command to get into the correct directory: cd /usr/bin
  3. Finally, once in the correct directory, run this command to execute the program: Bash SemiRestore11-Lite

The “Lite” part of this tool seems to suggest that it’s a stepping stone to the bigger picture. In case you don’t already know, when a device is being jailbroken using Electra, it first creates what is called an APFS Snapshot. When the full version of SemiRestore 11 is released, you will be able to revert back to complete stock state of iOS 11.1.2 using APFS Snapshot. This will come in handy in case you want to sell the device, or just want to start everything from scratch on the jailbroken iOS 11.1.2 firmware.

Coming back to this Lite version of SemiRestore, if you are jailbroken, have a number of different packages or tweaks installed, and are having difficulties without actually knowing what’s causing the problem, then using SemiRestore 11 Lite could solve that problem by giving you a blank jailbreak canvas to start from.
