Semi-Restore For iOS 9.0.2 / 9.1 Released: Restore Your Device Without Losing Jailbreak

Finally. After a very long wait, Semi-Restore has been updated, with the new version now compatible with all jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices running iOS 5.0 to iOS 9.1. What this means is that if you are jailbroken on the more recently-jailbreakable iOS 9.0.2 or iOS 9.1 firmware, you can use Semi-Restore now to restore your device back to stock-like setup without losing the jailbreak.

For those uninitiated, Semi-Restore is developer by CoolStar, and was originally released back in the year 2013. In a nutshell, it kind of works like Cydia Impactor by Saurik, with one major difference being it doesn’t remove jailbreak from your device while Cydia Impactor does.

Semi-Restore

In a time when new public jailbreak tools are hard to come by for latest iOS firmware versions, tools like Semi-Restore can come in very handy as they allow jailbroken device users to reset their devices to stock setup without losing jailbreak and Cydia.

If you have a jailbroken device, you’ll know how constant installing and reinstalling of tweaks and themes can take a toll on the device, with everything becoming slow and sluggish with time, and in need of a reset. With Semi-Restore, you can now have a fresh start on the same firmware without losing jailbreak.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that is in need of a fresh start, and you want to keep your jailbreak, you can download and use Semi-Restore right now. Semi-Restore is currently available for Windows and Linux only, with no word yet on the availability of the Mac version of the tool.

Simply head to semi-restore.com to download the tool, and then follow our detailed tutorial here for instructions on how to use it. The tutorial might be for iOS 6.1.2 firmware, but the process is mostly the same, and is applicable on iOS 9.0.2/9.1 devices as well.
