Samsung Will Begin Producing Galaxy S4 Displays Later This Month [Report]

Samsung’s Galaxy S IV is the most eagerly-anticipated Android smartphone release this year, and considering it has the ever popular S II and S III as its predecessors, it’s little wonder Samsung is said to be pulling out all the stops with the fourth addition to the Galaxy S family. According to reports originating from Korea, the 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display that the company showcased at CES is nearing the production line, with manufacturers set to begin assembling the part by the end of this month. As a result, screens will start shipping to Samsung Electronics in early March.

It has already been confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S IV will not be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), despite rumors initially implying that was indeed the plan. Considering the new display is heading to the Galaxy S IV in early March, we can assume – although in no way confirm – that the murmurs pointing at a March / April launch date may not be too far off the mark.

The aforementioned display is said to be one of many exciting new features of the S IV, alongside a Exynos 5 eight-core SoC, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel main snapper (2-megapixel front facing), Android Jelly Bean (4.2.1) laced with the TouchWiz UI, among a plethora of other purported niceties.

We’re certainly excited about the prospect the Galaxy S IV, and although Samsung devices have traditionally leaked way before their release dates, the company managed to keep the S III under wraps right until the release date last Summer. Of course, we love trying to paint an early picture of what form and spec an upcoming device might take, but I still secretly hope Samsung manages to keep the leaks down to a minimum once more, so as to heighten the impact at launch.

The S III has sold in the tens of millions already, and there’s little doubt the S IV – with such an exciting list of purported specs – will continue this trend of popularity once more. We’ll certainly keep our eyes and ears open for any further information regarding the next-generation handset, so be sure to stay tuned to our coverage here at Redmond Pie!
