Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Officially Gets Launch Event Date

It’s now official folks. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has got its launch event date and we have all the details for you right here.

The invitation for the launch event dubber “Unpacked”, which was sent to select section of media and other important attendees, is for a new product launch that will take place on August 23rd this year at 10am Eastern (7am Pacific) in New York City.

Given what happened with previous Samsung smartphone in the same lineup, the now infamous Note 7, this launch will be significant for Samsung as the company will try and resurrect the damaged Note branding after Note 7 fiasco from last year. It will be interesting to see what approach will the company take when unveiling the successor to Note 7.

Recently, Samsung also launched refurbished version of Note 7 dubbed the Galaxy Note Fan Edition (FE) in select markets which is basically exact same phone from last year except for battery which is now slightly smaller compared to the original model.

As far as expected features for Note 8 goes, the new Note is rumored to feature slightly larger version of Galaxy S8’s Infinity Display with minimal bezels all around and a curved screen around the side edges. iPhone 7 Plus-like dual-lens camera system (first for a Samsung smartphone!), S Pen stylus, fingerprint screen sensor on the back, and other standard features will be the order of the day.

We will of course be covering the Samsung’s Note 8 event live from NYC as it happens on August 23rd, bringing you all the details as they come. Stay tuned to our coverage for more.
