Relive Apple’s iPhone 5s / 5c Keynote Online Right Here [VIDEO]

Apple has finally announced the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, two smartphones that have immediately confirmed the demise of the iPhone 5. In an event that also saw the iWork and iLife suite for iOS go free of charge on newer devices, there was plenty going on, and now, you can watch the keynote online in its entirety.

The event started off calmly enough, with the revelation that the iWork apps for iOS – Keynote, Numbers, Pages – along with iMovie and iPhoto, would be free of charge. Later on, Apple took the liberty of going through the feature set of iOS 7, which ultimately resulted in the release of iOS 7 GM download. Of course, the news was as calm before the proverbial storm, but those wishing to try these productivity apps having previously been off-put by the price can now do so for no cost.

The iPhone 5c was the first major announcement of the day, and was true to the rumors almost completely. The device is essentially a re-branded, rehoused iPhone 5, which goes a way to explaining why the hitherto flagship has been rendered obsolete. It’s certainly a lot cheaper than any other new iPhone we’ve seen, but whether it’s ‘low-budget’ enough to hit those key markets in India and China, only time will tell.

Next came the iPhone 5s, with its gold color configuration option and fingerprint sensor to boot. But as the world continues to argue whether either of those are a good idea, the main attraction, to our eyes, is the impressive 64-bit A7 processor, something Apple is rightly proud of. The "s" moniker added to device releases has been a cause of confusion in the past, with some unsure as to whether this implies a rudimentary upgrade or something more substantial, but while the iPhone 5s may sound like a enhanced version of its predecessor, the processor alone, along with Touch ID, new camera features etc. represents a significant leap – possibly the only major iPhone upgrade in years.

So, if you missed the coverage first time around and want to watch the keynote from start to finish, you can now do so now. The company broke from tradition by streaming WWDC right from its site, but with no such luck this time around, you can now catch up on every superlative, bad joke and drool over some of the new technology.

Once you’ve digested the showcasing ceremony, be sure to leave your thoughts below!
