How To Recover Deleted WhatsApp Messages, Photos, Video On Android

One of the much anticipated features to recently arrive to the popular messaging app WhatsApp was the ability to delete sent messages.

We’ve all been in a situation where this would prove helpful, and its addition to one of the world’s most popular apps was welcomed, although there are still situations where retrieving a deleted message could come in handy.

Predictably, WhatsApp itself does not offer any way to retrieve anything that was purposefully deleted, whether that is a text message or some form of media. If you’re an Android user, however, there may be a solution.

The first of those is an app called Notisave, a free notification monitoring app that will read all of the notifications you receive and then save them for reading later. This obviously only works for text messages, however, and it will, of course, also work for other apps and not just WhatsApp because of its nature.

This way, when you receive a new notification for a new WhatsApp message, even if the message is subsequently deleted, Notisave will still have the text, ready for your perusal.

When it comes to media, though, you’re going to want to check out WhatsRemoved. This app is specifically built for recovering deleted WhatsApp messages but is also a notification monitor, killing two birds with one stone. While WhatsRemoved can show any deleted WhatsApp message, it can even go one step further and detect any deletions before notifying you immediately. Importantly, WhatsRemoved not only supports text but also media such as audio messages and images.

There are no doubt plenty of other apps that offer similar functionality out there, so even if someone deleted a message you needed, if you’re using one of these apps, you should be just fine.
