Apple’s Free App of the Week promotion for paid iOS apps is nothing new, and if you believe nothing exciting has walked down that road in while, this week’s camera and editing app is likely to change that. The app usually retails for $3.99 on the App Store, but can be downloaded absolutely free of cost till Thursday.

Musemage is a professional level video camera and editor app, which last dropped its price tag in July last year, so if you missed it out on that occasion, here’s your chance. But what’s the fuss all about?

Let’s see, Musemage has been “Awarded App Store Photography & Video recommended App in the United States, Canada, India, and Brazil”, and if that doesn’t cut it, it was also voted as the “top 10 Photo & Video categories app in: Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, and Russia”.

The app allows you to use different filters and effects on offer in real-time, but best of all it allows you to do that with videos being recorded in Full HD and photos being captured in full resolution. Neat!

That said, the developers tells us that the app has just recently been updated with “video post-editing” function, which also works for 4K videos, given that the resolution is becoming the new 1080p standard.

To be exact there are 7 “Professional Shooting Modes” as laid out below:

– Video Mode: Experience multiple shooting features opening simultaneously.
– Time-lapse: Different time-lapse speed and various real-time filters and effects as you want.
– Photo Mode: Various camera lens and filters all in real-time to help you get a good shot.
– Blue Screen: Replace any background into funny picture, or video of your choice.
– Manual Mode: Manually adjust focus, white balance, shutter, ISO function.
– Stop-Motion: Shoot frame-by-frame, and control the frame rate, easily shoot wonderful videos.
– Magic Color: Feel free to change the color of any object, useful in any situation.

There are over 33 filters and special effect filters, as well as 44 color filters to applied in real-time. We could go on listing the various functions and features packed into Musemage, but hey, it’s free, go give it a run on your iPhone or iPad right now and discover them for yourselves.
