Official Apple Store App For iPad Released, Features A Beautiful Image-Centric UI

Following hot on the heels to recent updates to its iBooks, iTunes U and Find My friends apps, Apple has released its very first version of the Apple Store app designed specifically for iPad. Some Apple aficionados will feel that the launch of an iPad variant of the popular shopping app is entirely overdue, others will be of the opinion that it has arrived just in time for the festive holiday shopping season. Regardless of public opinion, Apple can be extremely proud of this latest release as it features a gorgeous minimalist design that provides a seamless shopping experience to users.

The native iPad version of the App Store app essentially offers the same feature set as its iPhone and iPod touch compatible counterpart. Users are invited by the Cupertino company to download the app onto their iPad to enjoy a rich and immersive shopping experience that will showcase Apple’s products in the perfect environment.

The accepted iOS 7 color scheme and design methodologies are evident throughout the app, with Apple using beautiful imagery of their mobile and computing hardware and accessories to guide the user through the shopping experience.

This app has clearly been built from the ground up with the iPad and iOS 7 in mind. Rather than taking the easy route of scaling the existing iPhone version up to fit the larger screen of the iPad, it’s evident that the design and engineering teams at Apple have carefully considered every need of the end-user.

Every inch of the iPad’s Retina display has been utilized to show off high-resolution product images of products like the iPhone 5s/5c, iMac and new Mac Pro. The stunning image sets and vector based maps throughout the app do a fantastic job of grabbing the users attention and making the whole experience a pleasurable one.

Apple has clearly placed a great deal of importance on this app. Everything loads, works and feels like it has been entirely reimagined for a mobile interface. When an app contains extremely high-resolution images throughout the fear always exists that it will perform terribly. Thankfully Apple has avoided that pitfall by producing an iPad Apple Store app that we are sure will entice users into parting with more of their hard-earned cash.
